Jordanian Minister of Water, Co-Chair of the UfM Summit at the Farnesina

(ANSA) - ROMA, 25 SET - In a meeting with Ambassador Zamporlini, the Jordanian Minister of Water and Irrigation, Raed Abu Al-Soud, said he was very proud to assume, together with the European Commission, the co-chairmanship of the second Union for the Mediterranean ministerial meeting on water, which will be opened and held at the initiative of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on September 28 at the International Conference Hall of the Farnesina. The Minister of Water, who is departing for Rome this Sunday, reiterated that the water sector is a political and strategic priority for Jordan and expressed great appreciation for Italy’s increasingly prominent role in this field, hoping that the ministerial meeting will advance multilateral water diplomacy in the Mediterranean region. The minister then encouraged Italian companies to invest in Jordan’s water sector as part of the strategic projects launched by the country, such as the “Aqaba-Amman Water Desalination and Conveyance Project,” and also in anticipation of the EU-Jordan Investment Conference to be held on November 19 at the Dead Sea.
