Rodriguez, Venezuela'da depremden en çok etkilenen La Guaira'da, yabancı arama kurtarma ekiplerinin bulunduğu La Guaira Limanı'nı ziyaret etti. Venezuela Dışişleri Bakanı Yvan Gil, İçişleri Bakanı Diosdado Cabello ile Ulusal Meclis Başkanı Jorge Rodriguez'in de katıldığı ziyarette Rodriguez, arama kurtarma ekipleri liderlerine, "Venezuela Kahramanı" nişanı verdi. Rodriguez, Türk Silahlı Kuvvetleri İnsani Yardım Tugayı Komutanı Tuğgeneral Mehmet Bahtiyar ile AFAD Denizli İl Müdür Yardımcısı Haluk Önay Erten'e de kahramanlık nişanı takdim etti. Türk arama kurtarma ekiplerinin enkazlarda hayati rol oynayan 6 köpeğine de Venezuela'nın Kahraman Köpeği nişanı verildi. Rodriguez'in Türkiye'ye yönelik teşekkür mesajı da Türkiye'nin Caracas Büyükelçisi Naci Aydan Karamanoğlu'na teslim edildi. Büyükelçi Karamanoğlu, Rodriguez'in yabancı arama kurtarma ekiplerine yönelik teşekkür töreni düzenlediğini belirterek, şöyle konuştu: "Venezuela Cumhurbaşkanı Vekili Sayın Delcy Rodriguez, bu törende kampta bulunan arama kurtarma ekiplerine, bizim ülkemizden gelen arama kurtarma ekibine, ekip liderlerine madalya taktı. Ayrıca Türkiye devletimiz için de Sayın Cumhurbaşkanımıza bir teşekkür mektubu ve teşekkür nişanı tebliğ etti. Bu nişanı Sayın Cumhurbaşkanımıza iletilmek üzere ekibimizle beraber göndereceğiz. Bu törende ayrıca güzel bir anı da oldu, burada ekiplerimizle beraber görev yapan köpeklerimize de madalya takıldı. Onların da burada yaptığı kıymetli çalışma ödüllendirilmiş oldu." HAYATINI KAYBEDENLERİN SAYISI ARTIYOR Ülkenin Enformasyon Bakanlığınca yapılan açıklamada, depremlerde hayatını kaybedenlerin sayısının 50 artarak 2 bin 645'e yükseldiği bilgisi paylaşıldı. Açıklamada, ülkenin kuzeyini vuran 7,2 ve 7,5 büyüklüğündeki depremlerde 12 binden fazla kişinin yaralandığı ve yaklaşık 15 bin kişinin evsiz kaldığı belirtildi.

'6 BİNDEN FAZLA KİŞİ ENKAZDAN SAĞ ÇIKARILDI' Rodriguez, depremin olduğu andan bu yana 6 bin 462 kişinin enkaz altından sağ çıkarıldığını vurgulayarak, "Depremin hemen ardından Venezuela devleti tüm kurumlarıyla harekete geçti. Hundreds of rescuers in Venezuela cheered and embraced Thursday after pulling a 43-year-old man alive from the ruins of a collapsed building eight days after deadly twin earthquakes, AFP journalists witnessed. With the official death toll nearing 2,300 and huge numbers of people still missing, the rescue of security guard Hernan Gil after so long under the rubble was greeted as a miracle. Gil was brought out on a stretcher after a painstaking operation to extract him from the collapsed seven-story building where he worked in Catia La Mar, a coastal area almost entirely razed to the ground in the June 24 catastrophe. “This is truly a miracle,” Gil’s wife Gusbimar Gonzalez told AFP before his rescue. “I’m completely amazed because it’s the first time I’ve seen so many countries come together like this to save a single person,” she said. Rescue teams from seven countries — Venezuela, Chile, the United States, Portugal, Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Mexico — worked around the clock over the past three days to reach him. It was a complex operation in which teams had to avoid provoking the further collapse of already damaged, nearby structures. “It wasn’t easy to reach the exact spot where the victim was located,” Cristian Vera, the leader of the Chilean rescue team, told AFP. However, while there have been a few astounding rescues — a three-year-old boy was found Tuesday six days after the quake — hope has faded of finding many more survivors. No signs of life The majority of collapsed buildings in the hardest-hit city of La Guaira, just north of Caracas, have been marked with the letter ‘D’ for ‘deceased’ – a sign they had been searched with no signs of life found. “Time isn’t wasted in a place where there is no expectation of recovering people alive,” said Javier Rodes, the coordinator of a Spanish rescue team whose sniffer dog Nala searched in vain through the rubble for traces of life. Queues for aid are growing longer by the day, with many surviving on the goodwill of volunteers and donations from fellow citizens. “Here, we were receiving nothing until last night when they started bringing water,” said 56-year-old Fatima Berroteran, who has been sleeping with her family in a parking lot since their home in a high-rise complex in La Guaira collapsed. The World Food Programme (WFP) on Tuesday appealed for $50 million to feed some 500,000 people for three months in Venezuela. Risk of disease Fears of disease were also rising. World Health Organisation (WHO) spokesman Christian Lindmeier said health services in Venezuela were under “extreme pressure”. “There’s an increased risk now of outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases” such as measles and diphtheria, due to low pre-earthquake vaccination coverage, he said. The quakes likely damaged or destroyed 58,870 buildings, according to a preliminary assessment of satellite data published by Nasa.

ABD Güney Komutanlığı, ülkenin en büyük iki limanından biri olan La Guaira'ya ilişkin açıklamasında, "Liman şu anda operasyoneldir ve USS Fort Lauderdale savaş gemisi, Venezuela'ya acil ihtiyaç duyulan malzeme ve teçhizatı ulaştırmak üzere bu limanı kullanmaktadır" bilgisini paylaştı. AFP'ye konuşan ABD'li üst düzey bir hükümet yetkilisi ise Deniz Piyadelerinden oluşan uzman bir ekibin limanın onarımı için aralıksız çalıştığını aktardı. Öte yandan ABD Dışişleri Bakanlığı, Venezuela'ya yönelik daha önce taahhüt edilen 150 milyon dolarlık insani yardım bütçesini 300 milyon doların üzerine çıkardığını duyurdu. Bakanlık açıklamasında, bu bütçenin acil tıbbi bakım, gıda yardımı, temiz su, sanitasyon, barınma, koruma ve lojistik destek amacıyla kullanılacağı belirtildi. Finansmanın Samaritan's Purse, Catholic Relief Services, Uluslararası Göç Örgütü (IOM), Dünya Gıda Programı (WFP) ve Kızılay-Kızılhaç gibi ortak kuruluşlar aracılığıyla aktarılacağı kaydedildi. Washington ayrıca bölgeye 300'den fazla acil müdahale personeli ve yaklaşık 20 arama kurtarma köpeğinden oluşan dört ayrı kentsel arama kurtarma ekibi sevk etti.

Venezuela Devlet Başkan Vekili Delcy Rodriguez, Telegram üzerinden yaptığı açıklamada, Klieber Moran’ın La Guaira eyaletindeki Los Corales Garden 1 binasının enkazından Ürdünlü ekipler tarafından çıkarıldığını belirtti. Moran’ın enkaz altında 6 gün geçirdiği bildirildi. Venezuela, geçen çarşamba günü bir dakikadan kısa arayla 7,2 ve 7,5 büyüklüğünde iki depremle sarsıldı. Rescuers from around the world pushed on Tuesday to save any final survivors trapped under mountains of rubble after Venezuela’s massive quakes that killed over 1,700 people, with tens of thousands still unaccounted for. The twin quakes of magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 — the strongest to hit the South American nation in more than a century — likely damaged or destroyed 58,870 buildings, according to a preliminary assessment of satellite data published by Nasa. By the latest official count, some 1,700 are dead and 5,000 are injured, with no governmental word on the number of missing. Other estimates place these in the tens of thousands. At the only public cemetery in the capital Caracas, the two crematory ovens have been working at full capacity. Between Friday and Sunday, 60 to 70 burials were held each day. He was the one who found him, along with his entire family, in a collapsed building in the hardest-hit state of La Guaira. “It was a horrible experience, pulling him out, his children,” said the 42-year-old man. Five days after the powerful back-to-back quakes flattened entire neighbourhoods, the task of recovering the dead loomed large and hopes of finding survivors faded. Around 50,000 people are still listed as missing, according to the United Nations, which estimates that the disaster generated roughly 1.2 million tonnes of debris in La Guaira state. On Monday, a new 4.6-magnitude tremor rekindled fear among the population. Bodies in warehouse The US military repaired and reopened on Monday the Port of La Guaira, where an AFP correspondent saw a warehouse storing hundreds of unidentified bodies encased in white and black body bags as well as a few coffins. The USS Fort Lauderdale was docked and delivering aid. Dozens of people from the devastated region waited outside the makeshift morgue for news of their relatives as forensic personnel in blue uniforms examined the corpses. US airmen were also helping restore traffic at Simon Bolivar International Airport near Caracas, which was also heavily damaged. Venezuela quakes kill almost 1,500, with millions more in need
The death toll in Venezuela’s twin earthquake disaster reached 1,430 on Saturday, with millions more feared to lack sanitation and other basic needs as the first US aid flights trickled into Caracas. Facing public outrage at the response by local officials, US-backed interim Venezuelan leader Delcy Rodriguez said the country was “not alone”. The United States said one runway at Simon Bolivar International Airport was now functioning and that C-17 US military planes were landing there, while a naval ship had arrived off the coast. The UN humanitarian agency OCHA said search-and-rescue teams from at least 17 countries were being mobilised to help find survivors. But the search for survivors saw desperate attempts by local residents to claw away rubble from apartment buildings that collapsed in Wednesday’s double-quakes. Experts say the first 72 hours after natural disasters are the key, narrow window for finding the living. There was joy in the hardest-hit coastal area of La Guaira, north of Caracas, when locals pulled an infant alive out of the wreckage on Friday, some 32 hours after the magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 tremors. Earlier today, the Venezuelan government said that 1,600 members of foreign rescue teams had arrived to help search for survivors of the devastating twin earthquakes. Residents and volunteers in La Guaira, a popular destination for beachgoers where at least 100 buildings, many residential high-rises, were destroyed or damaged, have for days decried shortages of heavy equipment and a limited official presence. Rodriguez said in an overnight address on state television that 10 more countries were still to join rescue efforts and 14,000 military and police members were in La Guaira to patrol and take sanitary measures. “In recent hours, Venezuela has received 17 flights carrying more than 1,600 members of rescue teams, and over the next 24 hours, the arrival of 25 additional flights is expected,” said foreign ministry official Oliver Blanco. “We thank the international community for its support and solidarity during these moments of uncertainty for Venezuelans,” Blanco added on X in the early hours of Saturday. Rescuers have been making their way to sites around La Guaira state and Venezuela’s capital Caracas, although on Friday some areas were still largely without an official presence as families and neighbours struggled to find missing loved ones in the rubble, sometimes digging with their hands. Officials closed the road between La Guaira and nearby Caracas on Friday evening, saying heavy traffic was preventing quick passage of emergency vehicles and official rescuers. Civilians who are not part of official rescue teams will need a credential to pass the roadblock and Reuters witnesses were prevented from using the main road on Saturday morning by police, while an older secondary road was choked with traffic. The government had previously thanked civilians who brought aid, often by motorcycle, to desperate residents. Venezuelan state television showed images of thousands of pairs of shoes, clothing and other aid being collected by the government. While the power remained out near the quakes’ epicentre in Moron on Friday, as well as fully down in La Guaira, it was being restored in other places, with Rodriguez saying that 60 per cent of electricity had now been restored. Venezuela’s power grid, crippled by years of underinvestment and economic sanctions, regularly experiences problems, leading to daily, hours-long blackouts in some regions. 54,000 missing Although the government has said hundreds are missing or trapped, more than 54,000 people are listed as unaccounted for on a website promoted by the country’s opposition. The US Geological Survey (USGS) estimated more than 10,000 deaths were possible from the magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 quakes, which would place them among Latin America’s deadliest of the last century. Nearly 7 million people could be affected, the UN said, estimating direct damage at about $6.7 billion. The disaster could have political consequences for Rodriguez, who has tried to portray herself as an agent of change even though she served as vice president to Nicolas Maduro, who was ousted and arrested by the US in January. Noboa, "Aramızdaki büyük görüş ayrılıklarına rağmen, insanlık her zaman bir liderin kararlarına yön vermelidir." ifadelerini kullandı. KOSTA RİKA, DOMİNİK CUMHURİYETİ VE İSPANYA DA YARDIM TEKLİF ETTİ Kosta Rika Devlet Başkanlığı, depremden etkilenen Venezuela halkıyla dayanışma içinde olduklarını belirterek, "Hayat kurtarmak ve umutları yeniden yeşertmek için çalışan herkesin yanındayız. Yalnız değilsiniz." açıklamasını yaptı. Dominik Cumhuriyeti Devlet Başkanı Luis Abinader ise Venezuela makamlarına destek vermek amacıyla uzman arama-kurtarma ve acil müdahale ekiplerinin hazır bekletildiğini duyurdu. İspanya Başbakanı Pedro Sanchez de Venezuela halkına "tam destek" mesajı vererek, "Düşüncelerimiz depremde hayatını kaybedenler ve aileleriyle birlikte." ifadelerini kullandı.

Dünya genelinde son 24 saatte4 büyük deprem meydana geldi. Bu depremlerden ikisi Güney Amerika kıtasında, diğerleri ise Kuzey Amerika ve Asya kıtalarında yaşandı.ABD Jeolojik Araştırma Merkezinden (USGS) söz konusu depremlere ilişkin açıklamalar yapıldı. ABD'DE 5.6 BÜYÜKLÜĞÜNDE DEPREM USGS'den yapılan açıklamaya göre, ABD'nin California eyaletine bağlı Redwood Valley bölgesinin 11 kilometre kuzeyinde 5,6 büyüklüğünde deprem meydana geldi. Depremin derinliği 8,8 kilometre olarak kaydedildi. VENEZUELA'DA 39 SANİYE ARAYLA ŞİDDETLİ DEPREMLER Venezuela'da da 39 saniye arayla, Yaracuy eyaletine bağlı Yumare kentinin 23 kilometre güneydoğusunda 7,5, aynı eyalete bağlı San Felipe kentinin 24 kilometre kuzeydoğusunda da 7,2 büyüklüğünde deprem oldu. Depremlerin derinliği Yumare'de 10, San Felipe'de ise 21,9 kilometre olarak ölçüldü. Venezuela Geçici Devlet Başkanı Delcy Rodriguez, ülkesindeki depremlerde 32 kişinin hayatını kaybettiğini, 700'den fazla kişinin yaralandığını duyurdu. JAPONYA'DA 6,9 BÜYÜKLÜĞÜNDE DEPREM Japonya'nın kuzeydoğusundaki Iwate eyaleti açıklarında da 6,9 büyüklüğünde deprem meydana geldi. Iwate eyaletine bağlı Kuji şehri açıklarındaki deprem, 51,7 kilometre derinlikte kaydedildi.
