The Veneto Region at Expo 2027 Belgrade

(ANSA) - ROMA, 05 OTT - The commissioner of the Italian Pavilion at Expo 2027 Belgrade, Ambassador to Serbia Luca Gori, and Marco Zecchinato, councilor for Interregional Cooperation, Territorial Governance, Infrastructure, Local Authorities, and Territorial Reorganization of the Veneto Region, Marco Zecchinato, signed the agreement outlining the region’s participation in the International Specialized Exposition, scheduled to take place in the Serbian capital from May 15 to August 15, 2027. Expo 2027 Belgrade, titled “Playing for Humanity: Sports and Music for All,” will feature the participation of approximately 140 countries. The signed agreement implements the Framework Agreement initialed on June 24, 2026, in Rome between the same commission and the president of the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces, Massimiliano Fedriga, aimed at ensuring a structured and coordinated participation of Italian regions in the Expo. From June 20 to 22, 2027, the Veneto region will have a dedicated exhibition space within the Italian Pavilion and will be the focus of Regional Days dedicated to promoting the region, its areas of excellence, and opportunities for economic and international collaboration. “Serbia represents a strategic market for the Veneto region, with which we have consolidated collaborative relationships in the economic, tourism, and cultural spheres,” Zecchinato emphasized. “Expo 2027 Belgrade will be an important opportunity to showcase Veneto’s excellence in the Balkan region, with a focus on sports and the historic Sportsystem district, which embodies a production ecosystem of international significance.” “The Veneto Region’s participation in Expo 2027 Belgrade will help showcase the extraordinary richness of its territories, highlighting their cultural heritage, industrial excellence, and innovation ecosystems,” stated the Italian commissioner, Ambassador Luca Gori. “Expo 2027 Belgrade,” he added, “represents an exceptional opportunity to strengthen the international presence of Veneto-based companies that already have a strong foothold in Serbia.” Read article...
