Italian Foreign Ministry Organizes Cyber Diplomacy Course in Kosovo

(ANSA) - PRISTINA, 03 NOV - Kosovo’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Diaspora, Glauk Konjufca, participated today, alongside Italy’s Ambassador to Kosovo, Maurizio Antonini, in the opening of the training course “Cyber-Diplomacy: The Theory and the Practice,” organized by the Directorate General for Cyber Affairs, Information Technology, and Technological Innovation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for officials of the Kosovar Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The course, scheduled to take place in Pristina from November 2 to 6, aims to strengthen the expertise and capabilities of Kosovar institutions in the field of digital diplomacy through a training program that addresses the main challenges related to cybersecurity and cyberspace governance. The program includes in-depth discussions on international law as it applies to cyberspace, emerging cyber threats, new technologies, cyber resilience, and the role of key multilateral actors, with a particular focus on processes within the United Nations and the European Union. The training—which will also include the participation of Italian academics and representatives of international institutions—will conclude with a practical exercise simulating a cyber crisis, aimed at strengthening the analytical, coordination, and response capabilities of the institutions involved. The initiative is part of the framework of cooperation between Italy and Kosovo and reaffirms Italy’s commitment to supporting the strengthening of Kosovo’s institutional capabilities in a sector that is increasingly central to international security and diplomatic activity.
