Six bullet-riddled bodies found in four Balochistan districts

QUETTA: Police on Tuesday recovered six bullet-riddled bodies of unidentified people from Mastu­­ng, Panjgur, Kharan and Kalat districts, while eight people, including two women, were killed and nine others injured in separate incidents of firing, a roadside explosion and a road accident in Kalat, Quetta and Surab areas of Balochistan. According to police officials, three bodies were found in different areas of Kalat. The administration received information that two bodies had been dumped in the Rej locality, following which a police team immediately rushed to the area and took the bodies into custody. Police also recovered the body of another unidentified man from the Chhapar area of Kalat, which was also shifted to the hospital. All three bodies were kept at the DHQ Hospital for identification. However, none of them had been identified so far. Another unidentified body was recovered from the Jungle area of Mastung after local residents inf­o­rmed police about it. Police shifted the body to a hospital. According to police, the deceased was believed to have been a drug addict. Two women among eight killed in separate incidents The fifth body, also of an unidentified man, was found in the Nowan Kur area of Panjgur. Police said the victim had been shot dead by unidentified assailants before his body was dumped there. Police said the sixth victim had been abducted by unidentified armed men two days earlier after they attacked his house in Kharan city. His body was found on the outskirts of Kharan city on Monday night. Eight killed in separate incidents According to police, two women were killed in a firing incident in Kalat on Monday night while travelling from Zhob to Karachi. Police said that when the family’s car reached the Mangochar area of Kalat, unidentified armed men opened fire after the driver failed to stop despite their signal. “One woman, who was being taken to Karachi for treatment, suffered bullet injuries and died on the spot, while another woman, who was also injured in the firing, succumbed to her injuries,” police said, adding that an injured child was admitted to hospital. In another incident, a driver was killed and five other people were injured after an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded near the N-65 National Highway in Mastung district, badly damaging an LPG bowser and two trailers. Two more people were burned to death after an oil bowser caught fire at a petrol pump near Sariab Customs in Quetta on Tuesday. In another incident, three people were killed when two vehicles collided head-on on the Quetta-Karachi National Highway in the Surab area.
