Tajani on 31 Years Since Srebrenica: ‘An Unhealed Wound; Remembrance Is a Duty’

(ANSA) - SARAJEVO, 11 LUG - “On this day, my first thoughts go out to the victims and their families; I think of the mothers of Srebrenica who have been seeking truth and justice for over 30 years. Their determination shows that the wound has not healed. Remembrance is our duty. This means rejecting any form of genocide denial, which offends the victims and poisons the future”: this is an excerpt from a message by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, read by the Italian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarah Eti Castellani, who spoke at the commemoration at the Potočari Memorial Cemetery on the 31st anniversary of the genocide. Srebrenica represented “the greatest failure of the international community,” and “the strongest response to this tragedy has only one name: Europe. “Italy is at the forefront of supporting Bosnia and Herzegovina.
