Ambassador Manzo to Turkey hosts Trade Minister Bolat

(ANSA) - ISTANBUL, 20 GIU - The Italian Ambassador to Turkey, Giuseppe Manzo, hosted a business matching event last night at the Palazzo di Venezia in Istanbul, organized in collaboration with SACE, the insurance and financial group partially owned by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and specialized in supporting the growth of Italian companies. The meeting, part of the “Ideha26” series launched by the Italian Embassy in Ankara to highlight Italian “genius” and excellence in Turkey, brought together over one hundred participants from approximately forty Italian companies and fifteen of Turkey’s leading EPC contractors. At the heart of the more than two hundred B2B meetings were opportunities for Italian companies in the construction, energy, and infrastructure sectors, both in Turkey and through collaborations with Turkish firms in third countries. The guest of honor at the plenary session was the Turkish Minister of Trade, Omer Bolat, who emphasized in his remarks the close economic integration between the two countries and the leading role that Italian companies have historically played in Turkey’s industrial development—a fact underscored by Turkey’s status as Italy’s second-largest trading partner in Europe and its largest in the Mediterranean. Minister Bolat reiterated the goal of reaching $40 billion in bilateral trade in the medium term, as agreed at last year’s intergovernmental summit in Rome. “The Turkish market represents a major opportunity for Italian companies, which can count on the support of theembassy and key players in the Italian business ecosystem, such as SACE and ICE, to strengthen their exports to Turkey—especially in light of the Turkish government’s investment plans in the transportation and logistics sectors over the coming years and the growth of the energy sector,” Ambassador Manzo emphasized in his remarks.
