Czech Prime Minister Babis Attends Italian Republic Day Celebrations in Prague
(ANSA) - ROMA, 04 GIU - Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis and a government delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlicek, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Jaromir Zuna, as well as the ministers of Justice, Transportation, Sports, and Regional Development, participated in Prague in the event organized by the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute on the occasion of Republic Day. The celebrations were opened by the Castle Military Band, which performed the Italian and Czech national anthems and the European Union anthem in the courtyard of the Institute. Ambassador Alessandro Gaudiano and the director of the Cultural Institute, Marialuisa Pappalardo, welcomed the nearly one thousand guests from the political, economic, cultural, and diplomatic worlds. In his remarks, Ambassador Gaudiano highlighted the special relationship between Italy and the Czech Republic, founded on friendship, cultural affinities, and shared European identity, noting the contribution of businesses, cultural institutions, and the Italian community to strengthening ties between the two countries. Prime Minister Babiš highlighted the strategic nature of relations between the Czech Republic and Italy, noting the growing cooperation in the sectors of energy, innovation, new technologies, defense, and security, and underscoring the excellent state of bilateral relations marked by his meeting in Rome with Prime Minister Meloni and the convergence of interests in Europe. Guests also had the opportunity to view the exhibition “Naples Revives the Great Stage. Theatrical Costume Sketches in Naples," which, as part of the events celebrating the 2,500th anniversary of the city of Naples, brought to Prague costume sketches, theatrical artifacts, and stage costumes from the prestigious collection of the Adelaide and Maria Antonietta Pagliara Foundation.
