Eight days after the devastating Bhotekoshi-Trishuli floods in Nepal’s Rasuwa district, rescue teams continue to battle mud, floodwater and debris while searching for workers trapped inside tunnels of the Upper Trishuli-1 hydropower project. Amid the rescue operation, families are still searching for their missing loved ones. Rishi travelled from Nepal’s Kavre district to Rasuwa in search of his brother, Ang Thung Tamang, a truck driver who went missing after the flash flood on August 26. The last time Ang Thung spoke to his family was at around 8:10 am, when he was near Syaphru. Soon after, his phone was switched off. His family searched hospitals in Kathmandu, Battar and Dhunche but found no information. With no answers, Rishi began searching for his brother himself, eventually reaching Syaphru in Rasuwa. This is the story of a family caught between hope, uncertainty and the search for answers.
