GUJRAT: A 15-year-old girl was allegedly killed by her elder sister (18) after an altercation between them over the issue of ‘stealing’ followers on social media app TikTok in Gujranwala on Tuesday night. Ladhewala Warraich police (in Gujranwala city) claimed to have arrested the suspect and also recovered the knife used in the killing. Father of six daughters and a son, complainant Abdul Shakoor, a driver by profession, lodged a complaint with the police that some guests had visited his home on Tuesday (Sept 1) and he was busy with them at the ground floor when he heard cries from the upper floor. When he made it to the upper storey, he found Manahil in a pool of blood as she was stabbed with a kitchen knife by his 18-year-old daughter. Manahil was rushed to a nearby hospital but she died due to excessive blood loss. He said both the sisters were quarreling over the issue of some financial matters. Police investigation and area people said both the sisters had been active on TikTok to get some monetary gains since the family was struggling economically. The elder sister had blamed her younger sister for stealing her followers. Police have registered a case against the suspect who was reportedly handed over to police by her father.
