Demokratik Kongo Cumhuriyeti'nde (DRC) devam eden Ebola salgınına ilişkin Dünya Sağlık Örgütü (DSÖ) endişe verici rakamlar açıkladı. Şüpheli vaka sayısı bir haftada üç kat artarak 750'ye yaklaşırken, hayatını kaybedenlerin sayısı 177'ye yükseldi. DSÖ, salgının ülke için oluşturduğu riski 'çok yüksek' düzeyine çıkardı. Avrupalı yetkililer ise salgının Avrupa'ya sıçrama riskinin düşük olduğunu vurguladı. Müdahale çalışmaları; yardım kesintileri, halkın sağlık ekiplerine duyduğu güvensizlik ve defin ritüelleri gibi kültürel engeller nedeniyle sekteye uğruyor.
