Three women ‘shot dead by rivals’ in Faisalabad-Abbaspur Road
TOBA TEK SINGH: Three women of a gypsy family were killed and another was critically injured when their opponents, also gypsies, opened indiscriminate fire on their make-shift tents in the fields outside Chak 250 RB on Faisalabad-Abbaspur Road in Airport police limits, early on Thursday. A case has been registered against 14 alleged attackers, 11 of them nominated. Complainant Amer of Sahiwal stated in the FIR that the suspects, who belonged to different areas, including Samundri, Pattoki, Okara and Haveli Lakha, stormed into their temporary settlement and opened indiscriminate fire on his family members who were asleep. The attackers fled the scene, taking away his motorcycle, he added. He said the deceased persons – his mother Zubaida Bibi (55), wife Asma Bibi (35) and daughter Muskan (8) died in the attack instantly, while another daughter, three-year-old Zainab, was critically wounded. The injured minor and the bodies have been shifted to the Government General Hospital Samanabad. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and IGP Rao Abdul Kareem have taken notice of the triple-murder, directing police concerned to immediately arrest the killers. Police claim they are conducting raids to arrest the suspects. CPO Tanweer Hussain told reporters that police teams headed by Iqbal Town SP Saeed Ahmad have been formed to arrest the killers. ROOF COLLAPSE: A man died when the dilapidated roof of a washroom in a house collapsed on him in Noorpur locality on Millat Road, Faisalabad, on Thursday. According to Rescue 1122, Asif (31) was taking a bath in the washroom of his house when its roof suddenly collapsed on him.
