The Marine Corps is offering early separations in an effort to meet budget restraints that determine the size of the force, USNI News has learned. Under the Voluntary Enlisted Early Release Program, which was also offered in Fiscal Year 2025, first-term Marines who have separation dates on or before Sept. 30 can apply to leave the service earlier, according to a Marine Corps policy released July 1.
