U.S. Army Deploys Hypersonic Missiles in Range of China During Exercise

The U.S. Army deployed its Dark Eagle hypersonic missiles for a multinational warfighting exercise last month in the Western Pacific, according to recently released photos. Troops operating the long-range hypersonic weapon assigned to Multi-Domain Command – Pacific, the recent merge of the Washington-based 7th Infantry Division and 1st Multi-Domain Task Force, were reviewed by U.S. Indo-Pacific Command chief Adm. Samuel Paparo last month during Valiant Shield 2026. Defense department media of the deployment was released Sunday, almost one month after the exercise concluded.
