Ambassador Davoli Opens Seminar on Combating Illegal Mining in Ecuador

(ANSA) - QUITO, 22 LUG - The Italian Ambassador to Ecuador, Giovanni Davoli, inaugurated a training seminar in Quito for legal professionals on investigative mechanisms, judicial decision-making, and responses to illicit activities related to mineral resources. The seminar was organized by the Itajus legal cooperation program, implemented by IILA, in collaboration with the local office of UNODC (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime). The President of the Ecuadorian Judicial Council, Mercedes Caicedo, also spoke at the event. The Ambassador expressed the hope that the seminar would help “strengthen investigative and judicial capacity in cases of illegal mining, improve understanding of their links to organized crime, and facilitate a proper evaluation of technical evidence.” Read article...
