Italy shines in Mexico at the Fundiexpo 2026 trade show, dedicated to metallurgy

(ANSA) - MONTERREY, 29 OTT - Fundiexpo 2026, Latin America’s leading trade show for the foundry and metallurgy sector, has kicked off in Monterrey, Mexico, hosting approximately 300 exhibitors. Italy is participating with a national pavilion, organized by the ICE Agency in collaboration with the Amafond association, which features 22 Italian companies ready to showcase the excellence of their technologies and machinery. The Italian ambassador to Mexico, Alessandro Modiano, attended the opening ceremony and celebrated the event on social media, highlighting the success of the fair’s inauguration. The diplomat then highlighted the importance of supporting domestic companies and promoting “Italian industrial machinery for foundries and industrial innovation.” The local market offers enormous opportunities for “Made in Italy” products. In fact, Italy ranks as the second-largest supplier of foundry machinery to the North American country, with a 22.8% market share and imports valued at over 41 million euros (calculations by ICE Agency, based on TDM data).
