    (ANSA) - ROME, 21 SET - A 13-year-old boy of Congolese origin who on Friday disarmed a classmate after he had pepper-sprayed and stabbed a 66-year-old teacher on Monday got a hero's welcome at their Rome middle school. The boy was welcomed by the principal and the entire school community. "It was a community embrace, full of gratitude. The woman, a foreign-language teacher, was taken to hospital by a helicopter air ambulance. The boy reportedly filmed the whole thing on his cell phone, police said. Then, in May an 11-year-old boy tried to stab a male middle school teacher in an institute near Trapani in Sicily but was restrained by his intended victim before he could strike. The boy had put on a wraparound helmet to prevent him being identified before the attack at San Vito Lo Capo. He had brought two small knives to school and tried to stab the teacher in front of his classmates, while filming the attack on his phone inside a Telegram group. The teacher was unhurt. The boy had never displayed a propensity for violence, police said. According to reports, the student came from a troubled family. The school suspected the attack was motivated by anger over a four-point grade he received in a test. The 11-year-old was reportedly restrained by the teacher, the victim of the attack. The child attempted to strike him several times, only causing a few scratches. The teacher did not request medical assistance.
